Unlike most who crave chicken soup when they’re sick, I crave junk food!
The one thing I crave the most are brownies. Who doesn’t love the chocolate gooey goodness?
I have an amazing basic brownie recipe I found online with everything I ALWAYS have in my pantry. It hits the spot every time.
I’ve adapted it with many variations based on my craving!
The basic brownie recipe can be found here on one of my favorite sites, All Recipes, I use the site more as a reference point and adapt many different recipes. I found this recipe needs 10 minutes more added to the baking time if you don’t like the super-gooey center kind. This recipe is not that much more difficult than making brownies from a box. That’s lightening ninja skills!
Here are my varieties I have created:
Coconut rum sea salt brownies:
Brush the finished brownies with 1 Tbsp of coconut rum with a pastry brush right when the brownie comes out of the oven; then sprinkle with fresh grated sea salt. Yum!
Halloween candy brownies:
Add chopped up candy bar of your choice (1 regular size or 3 fun size) to the brownie batter. After the brownies have cooled, frost with a cream cheese frosting (my favorite recipe below) then sprinkle on top with more candy bar (1 regular sized or 3 fun size).
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream all ingredients together till there are no lumps.
Yummy on cupcakes, brownies and etc!
